Riverbed Cascade Products Using Wireshark

Riverbed overtook CACE in October of 2010 and has since been working to merge CACE's Shark packet capture and Pilot software technologies with Riverbed's Cascade products. Riverbed has announced their Cascade Shark Appliance and Cascade Pilot which give real-time views of network performance.

The packet capturing technology acquired from CACE allows for seeing more deeply into network traffic. Riverbed was previously unable to do this at the level CACE could. The free and open source Wireshark software developed by CACE is also incorporated to be used with Riverbed's new appliances and is said to be used in the Pilot software.
